Thursdays – Shots I learned from

Thursdays Shots – Shots that I learned something from

  1. Being lucky with weather / timing matters more than the camera gear [Loch Chon with point and shoot vs DSLR]
  2. You do not always need to be out and about to get great shots, look closer [Lillies at home]
  3. You do not always need to be out and about to get great shots, look closer [Rose at home]
  4. Possibly first shot where I got the bokeh in landscape in right balance [Autumn on Tyne]
  5. Perspective can change a reality, I had this image posted as a quiz on a local group and only 1 person guessed it was a puddle [Dusk in Newcastle]

Newcastle – Hadrian’s Wall Path (Business Park to Quayside)

Hadrian’s Wall Path is one of most loved walks / cycle paths in the North East England. This walk focuses on few landmarks and areas in the stretch from Newcastle Quayside to Newcastle Business Park.

I recommend parking up somewhere in Newcastle Business Park, plenty of parking available these days since a lot of people are working from home. Walk to Quayside, Millenium Bridge, or even further to Sage and back.

Newcastle – Hodgkin Park

Hodgkin Park (also known as Benwell Dene) is located in Benwell, West End of Newcastle upon Tyne, just off Benwell Lane.

This park was donated to the people of Newcastle in 1899 by Thomas Hodgkin, a prominent banker of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne. The park has a dene, children’s play area, various walking routes and split in two parts by Armstrong road.

Newcastle – Denton Burn and Denton Dene

Denton Burn North / South and Denton Dene is about 1.5 mile long walk. Denton Burn North and South are relatively on flat ground and are next to sports grounds behind silver lonnen. In the middle of two parts, just after crossing west road you can see parts of historic Hadrian’s wall.

Denton Dene however is a hidden nature reserve in middle of the city. This gallery features about half the walk. The dene also has Hadrian’s Way crossing through it.
